description

The CHILA V Cardigan is a chunky, short cardigan with European shoulders and long, decorative ribs for the body and cuffs.

You will start with the back neckband panel, then pick up stitches for the back piece from the long side of the panel and work the back piece in back and forth with regular increases. You will then work straight to the depth of the armholes.

You will work each of the front pieces separately, from stitches picked up on the back piece. The stitches from the back neckband panel will be integrated into the front piece for the front neckline. You will then shape the V-neck with regular increases on each of the front parts.

You will join the front and back pieces under the armhole and work the body in one piece to the end.

The sleeves are worked in the round, from stitches picked up around the armhole. The sleeve cuffs can be worked with double pointed needles or, alternatively, back-and-forth.

All ribs are worked with extra long 1 x 1 ribs. The top-down technique allows you to adjust all lengths to your individual measurements. When working longer than suggested, please consider that you will need to adjust the yarn requirements.
